Oh, geez. Another B.s. email, self promoting crap.

And then I realized, hey, this is titan and I’ve played on titanpoker and actually enjoyed.

It is European based and I played it when I was in Europe, by the way.

Now, to celebrate its 6th anniversary, Titan Poker will stage its first-ever Heads-Up Championship.

Here is the rest of the story, courtesy of titan: Players will compete in 24-hour races scheduled throughout the month to win one of the 32 spots in the elimination bracket format of the championship.

A total of over$25,000 in prizes will be awarded with $7,500 reserved for the top 8 players in the finals.

All players who earn more than 60 Titan Poker Points during the month of September will be able to participate in Titan Poker’s$6,000 Anniversary Freeroll, which will take place on Thursday, October 6th at 20:00 GMT+1.

Titan Poker will reward its players with additional promotions and surprises throughout the month as part of its Mystery Week Giveaway Poker Promotion.

A new mystery giveaway will be revealed to players each week. In order to be eligible for the giveaway, as well as to the other anniversary celebrations, players must opt-in to indicate their desire to participate in the promotions.

Poker novices and veteran poker players alike are invited to try out the free poker download at Titan Poker and join the online poker room in its 6th year anniversary celebrations.

And now, a warning. Online gambling is illegal in the U.S. So I advise anyone who wants to play do so outside the borders of America.

Until some smart legislators legalize it.

It’s bound to happen.

OK… I know this is an advertisement in a way (and I hate being a shill), but this sounds like a good deal for those of us who play poker online.

Anyway, it’s worth a look.

Anyone who has played at titanpoker.com, please let me know about your experience.

I plan on playing this weekend, when I have some time.

Here’s the deal: Titanpoker.com, an online poker room in Europe, is offering discounts on buy-ins to some of its most prestigious tournaments during the month of January 2011.

Discounts range from 50% to 80% off the regular tournament buy-in prices. The guaranteed prizes awarded to winning poker players in the tournaments remain unchanged.

The series of New Year Super Sale ( http://www.titanpoker.com/promotions/new-year-sale.html ) tournaments kicks off with the Friday $60,000 Guaranteed tournament, an event with a 50% discounted buy-in and entries going for $50+$5.

Sounds good. But let the buyer beware…is all I am saying.

The biggest discounts of 80% off the usual tournament buy-in amounts are being offered for entries to the High Roller Monday$35,000 Guaranteed; Monday Night Omaha $5,000 Guaranteed; and Super Tuesday $30,000 Guaranteed tournaments.

The series finale is the Sunday $200,000 Guaranteed Prize tournament on January 16, 2011, with entries of $100+$9, a 66% discount off the usual buy-in cost.

Online poker players are invited to download (http://www.titanpoker.com/download.html) the user-friendly Titan Poker software.

Here is what Titanpoker.com says about itself: [remember, this is them speaking, or rather, their P.R. people.]

Titanpoker.com is part of the iPoker (http://www.titanpoker.com/ipoker.html ) Network.

Every once in a while viewers email me asking about the nuances of poker playing, and I always say that what I do here every week is report on trends, games, tournaments, players and… yes, strategies.

In other words, I’m not pretending to be an expert. I love playing. I win. I lose. But I sure enjoy poker…as well as other online (and real world games). What I’m saying is I’m just like you. I need to know more to win and one of the cool things about this posting is I know people who are experts and who can teach us all a thing or two.

We’re all in this together, right? To win money.

But one of the best ways to learn, in this technological savvy world, is to go online to one of the many GREAT online gambling sites, like casino.com, one of my favorites (it’s clean and cool looking, with lots of gaming opportunities) and play free for a while. Casino.com even has what they call a casino bonus, which makes playing there even more enticing.

And watch for special promotions. Sites are ALWAYS making great offers, like casino bonus, to draw you into their game rooms.

Meanwhile, these tutorials are generally awesome.

And whether you go to casino.com or another site, learning to play for free is the best way to prepare yourself for the real deal, when money is on the line.

The thing all beginners need to know about poker is that there are so many cool variations, it can make your head spin. Texas Hold ‘em is the most popular at the moment, but I grew up playing other variations… like the simple five card draw.

So, there are a many types of games with different rules (and strategies).

There are even different betting structures (like Limit versus No Limit) and different game formats (like normal “ring” games versus tournaments).

When you go to one of these sites, scramble around a while. Test out some links.

Read a little about the games.

After a bit of reading, these days the best way to learn how to play poker is by playing free at an online cardroom — or even just watching others play.

It’s very simple to do, you download the software, sign up (doesn’t cost anything unless you eventually play for real money) then click one of the active tables and watch how the game moves and how poker hands are played.

If you want to play, click an open seat on a free-play table and start playing. The learning process is greatly accelerated, and you don’t need to rely on friends to put together a game.

Believe me. Online, there are ALWAYS games to watch or play.

So go to one of the sites and let me know what you think. I’ll publish at THIS site your reactions.

It was only a matter of time before companies would devise apple compatible poker sites.

Now, thanks to Switchpoker.com, it’s ready to go.

Three-years in the making, Switchpoker.com allows online poker players to play real money poker on their iPads, iPods, and iPhones.

Of course, the site is web based.

Players can simply sign up for an account and start playing (and the first 250 players who register for an account using the bonus code 10free4me will receive 10 euros in chips free without having to make a deposit.

This is important: The site is now available ONLY to non-U.S. residents and hosts no-limit hold’em six-max ring games.

However the company is already working on expanding its geographical reach into the U.S. and adding sit ‘n’ go and multi-table tournaments, heads-up and nine-seat ring games, and fixed-limit hold’em and pot-limit Omaha tournaments in the future.

Conor McCarthy, co-founder of Switchpoker.com, said “As online poker players we were greatly frustrated by our inability to play real money poker using our Apple mobile devices. The solution proved deceptively simple – why not develop our own site compatible with Apple devices but not beholden to them.

“After a period of intense development Switchpoker.com is here and it offers the world’s first real money poker games for the iPhone & iPad. We’re thrilled to be setting the pace and look forward to making our site the gold standard of mobile poker.”

OK…that’s a lot of P.R. talk, but still, we’re awfully glad that some people around the world can play. And soon, possibly, players in the U.S.

Ok, for the up-teenth time, I hate running press releases because they are pure spin.

On the other hand, guys, getting press releases does keep me informed about events I might not have known about otherwise.

Like the World Series of Poker Main Event Week running until June 2o on Full Tilt Poker.

Full Tilt, as I understand things, is offering up more than 200 WSOP seats all this week for its members. At least 5 WSOP Main Event prize packages will be up for grabs every day.

The finale of WSOP Main Event Week on Full Tilt Poker is the $640 buy-in 150-seat Guarantee on the 20th, at 6 p.m.ET. As its name implies, 150 prize packages to the Las Vegas tournament will be up for grabs, or the equivalent of $1.8 million.

Each $12,000 prize package includes the Main Events $10,000 buy-in plus $2,000 in spending money.

Prize package winners will also wine and dine with Full Tilt pros and receive access to the sites hospitality suite at the Rio.

That’s pretty cool.

In addition, theyll receive the option of free accommodations at the off-Strip hotel. Satellites to the 150-Seat Guarantee are running all week.

On Saturday, look for a $216 Direct Qualiferfor WSOP Main Event seats. The more affordable $216 buy-in tournament awards 10 prize packages and kicks off at 18:00 ET.

Direct Qualifiers are boasting double guarantees all week.

In addition, there are twice as many Daily Shootouts being held, offering even more chances for Full Tilt Poker members to become the next Joe Cada.

Last year, Cada, a PokerStarssponsored pro, banked $8.5 million after defeating Maryland logger Darvin Moonin the Main Event. Full Tilt Poker is upping the ante by coughing up$10 millionif you qualify through the site and then go on to win the Main Event.

This is in addition to your first place prize, making the payday an especially lucrative one if a Full Tilt satellite winner goes on to win the Main Event bracelet.

As another reason to play on Full Tilt, if you qualify through the site for the Main Event and go on to cash, youll take home a seat to next years $10,000 buy-in event. Other bonuses are also available.

Players have to be at least 21 years of age to enter any tournament at the 2010 WSOP.

So, you might want to check this out.
