The downside of being sneaky
Earlier today I was doing well in a $20+2 pot limit holdem tournament. With 25 players left, 18 being paid, I was in 4th place, and then I misstepped. In my last two tournaments where I bubbled close to the money it only took one poor play to get me on the way to the [...]

46th of 1571 players: My latest run in a tourney
Last night after booking some profits in the heads up matches I decided to play some of the larger tournaments, namely the $10+$1+rebuy at www.pokerstars.co.uk and the $10+$1 limit rebuy at pokerstars. They’re selling their entire portfolio on eBay, 1,673 dot-com names, with a starting bid of $150,000. Not sure how many bids they’re going to get, but [...]

Thursday night tournament
Last night was our weekly tournament and it was the biggest yet. Not quite as big as the events at www.pokerstars.co.uk but we upped the buyin from $5 to $10 this quarter thinking it might thin the field when in fact the field has grown. Last night 39 guys showed up to play the $10 + [...]

Maximize profits online
All the ‘big-time’ online players use the online structure to their advantage. By that I mean they play multiple tables at once. Besides not being face-to-face, one of online pokers’ main differences is the ability to multi-table. Lots of good tournaments players do this when playing several multi table tournaments at the same time, but [...]
